This wedding was incredibly special to us at Rituals of Love as it was the wedding of our shop manager, Simone. Kevin and Simone were married in Stanley Park at the Teahouse on a warm Monday evening in June, surrounded by only 32 of their closest friends and family.
Working with wedding gowns all day made the task of finding a dress that captured her bubbly personality a lot harder than one would presume, believe it or not, too many options only make things more difficult. Unknowingly, our journey to Simone’s gown started with a trip to our lovely Vancouver based designer - Something Blue Vancouver.
We took a trip to pick out the next seasons collection. While sorting through Something Blue’s latest gowns, we noticed a shell of a half made-gown in the most beautiful silk and velvet embroidery peaking out from the corner of their studio. Simone insisted on trying it on. After some customizations and working with the designers to fine tune details she knew it was meant to be her gown. The custom Simone gown was born and added to their next collection!
Local designer Kady of The Jane Rhyan Collection created the namesake pink and blush veil that matched her gold Louboutins and nude pallet of the wedding. After the ceremony Simone changed into a Jane Rhyan tulle bow for the remainder of the evening.
The celebrations started with a cocktail reception and mingle. Tables were adorned with blush velvet table cloths, pale pink and cream roses, and hanging tulle garland. Her aunt, a former florist and party planner created the look that paired perfectly with the west coast sunset.
The circle ceremony commenced at 7pm followed by a plated dinner. There was no dance, just good food, endless drinks and lots of laughs. The couple escorted their guests out to the beach for a floating lantern send off and fun photos with sparklers.
